Strategic Priorities
Information
We will become the comprehensive source of information for industrial and commercial organizations. The commission will build a base of knowledge, skills and experiences that create centralized information on commercial and industrial expansion in the Corridor. We will be the trusted advisor to our partners.
Attraction
We will aggressively attract new employers to the St. Lawrence Corridor. We will proactively seek out new employers for our market and be known as a region that is open for business as a result of our activities.
Expansion
We will be the first stop for industrial and commercial located in the St. Lawrence Corridor looking to expand. As experts in our field, local employers will look to us for advice and counsel on their business expansion plans.
Retention
We need to maintain our base of employers currently located in our region. Outreach and support on behalf of the commission is required to understand changing needs and opportunities facing employers.
Stakeholders
We will become the municipal, provincial and national face for industrial/commercial economic development in our region. Taking on the role of advocate where appropriate. We will work with our partners to influence political stakeholders to invest tax funding in our region.
Labour Pool
We will maintain and expand a skilled workforce to the St. Lawrence Corridor. To become the location of choice for new industrial and commercial businesses, our residents will need to have the requisite skills and abilities to fulfil roles along with the need to expand the labour pool both in numbers and to fit employer requirements.
